Worm Gearboxes is the type of gear system in which higher torque is achieved with a low-speed gear ratio. Being simple and compact in design, these gears can achieve a higher gear ratio than the helical gears. These worm reduction gears having screw type qualities are similar to helical gears, but their helix angle is typically comparatively larger and its body is normally quite long in the axial direction. The gears in these gearboxes can be right or left-handed depending upon the purpose.
Worm gearboxes are highly precise and powerful axial-offset gearboxes. The high-performance gearboxes cope with today’s high requirements in every respect. They are quiet-running and insensitive to shocks. It is not without reason that they are used worldwide, inter alia, in conveying systems. In everyday language, worm gearboxes are also known as Worms.
Cases up to 90 in die-cast aluminium alloy and up 150 in grey cast iron.
Aluminium units are supplied complete with synthetic oil and allow for universal mounting positions, with no need to modify lubricant quantity.
